Triangle Horizon realize this solar field extension project for Green Yellow and Axian. The solar power plant, located at Ambatolampy in Madagascar had a power of 20 MW. Le Triangle is going to multiply by two this production capacity and reach 40 MW. Triangle Horizon and their partners started works in June. Thanks to this project, GreenYellow society assure their leader position in Madagascar photovoltaic market.
The total investment for this solar project cost 17 millions € and reduce greenhouse gas emission by 34 000 carbon tons. One more step for energetic transition. This investment has been supported by banks and local ecologic organizations.
"With this GreenYellow project strengthens its strong presence in Madagascar and the Indian Ocean, where we already are the leading producer of photovoltaic energy. The extension of the Ambatolampy power plant will allow GreenYellow and Axian to go further in their collaboration and finance the development of future renewable energy projects in Madagascar," explained Otmane Hajji, President of GreenYellow.
This solar field will supply 50,000 homes with green energy. A 5MWh storage unit will also be installed on this project and will allow the accumulation of energy produced during the day that is not consumed. The green electricity produced by the sun can thus be used at night or during a one-off drop in production.
The Triangle is proud to help Madagascar achieve its energy goal. Indeed, the Malagasy government wants to reach 80% renewable energy in its energy mix by 2030. Photovoltaic energy is one of the most efficient renewable energy solutions;
